Hello Verónica.
Hereafter youll find my feedback about the course contents.
Im very glad to hear that so many ciberstudents have enjoyed the
course as much I have.
I dont believe it should really be necessary to introduce
modifications in the present contents. In my opinion, the presentation
(extension and topics under consideration) has been convenient. Not too much
grammar, but included within the topics and assignments under consideration
have refreshed our knowledges about.
New expressions, idioms and some interest sections have introduced
a special flavor for a better and most profitable usage of the language.
Finally, I would like to express the acknowledgment for the concern and
invaluable support you have demostrated along the course.
Im looking forward to hear about you throughout a new ciberyear.
Regards,
-----------
Vero : I am very happy to have participated in email course. Some lesson and
assignment were OK but other were not interesting. Any way, as a summary, course
has 7 points in my opinion.
Always is important to read, prepare assignment and do some excurcises,
because this is part of learning process.
Regarding your question about follow up, in my case was difficult because I
traveled a lot during this year. I am sorry but I could not to finished the
final assignment.
I will be in touch if I have other comments relating with this course, and you
don excite to contact me if I can help you in any activities.

Yes, i really enjoy the course even when i don´t make homework. In fact i
never did it.
What i like the most is the type and structure of its language.
Easy to read and then easy to remember, the way situations are pictured and
examples chossen are both smart.
This last is extremely important to me, the smarter the better except some
issue, guess which.
Regards.

Veronica: In my opinion the course is very useful and I appreciate your
dedication and profesionalism. These qualities are noted through your
weekly messages.
I apologize you for not completing in time the assignments and exercises
proposed in your sessions. But this omission doesn´t mean that I don´t pay
attention to the them. On the contrary, I weekly read y review the contend
of each session, write down phrases and words that are new for me, etc.
The problem is that since September I haven´t had the neccessary time
for completing the exercises, but I insist, I find the course useful.
Believe me.
Any way I must tell you that I my English listening is poor because I don´t
have the opportunity to speak and listen colloquially, so I depend on
watching CNN, BBC, and some other recorded material I have, what I
regularly do. But the most of times not in proper moments over the day.
The company provides me two weekly inmersions per year but taking them is
almost impossible. I missed one of them in 1999 and both in 1998. So in my
case I think that it would be better weekly sessions of conversation in
spite of inmersions.
Thank you very much for your interest. Regards!

Verónica,
I have to tell you that I really liked the course.
I can not think of anything I didn´t like. You put many different things in
the session and that mede them very interesting.
In my personal opinion I would like to have more vocabularies assigments,
e.g. use of phrasal. I can see that I have reached a level where, although
there is always something to learn, I need to make my vocabulary richer and
put into practice all the structures and grammar I have learned.
Anyway, I enjoyed the course very much and hope we can do another next
year.
Happy New Year!!!

Verónica:

Guidelines para otros instructores, sobre correcciones y feedback
GUIDELINES FOR INSTRUCTORS :
A brief note on general e-course procedures :
1. Every Tuesday (around midday) I will send you a copy of the week's lesson. You will have to
change the salutation, sign your name, etc. and make copies* to your students.
2. Students have to find weekly lessons in their mailboxes on Wednesdays before 9 AM. ( I
usually send them the day before after 10PM )
*COPIES TO DISTRIBUTE =
(a) Create a list ( that way you will only send ONE message to say 15 people ) and name it
after the group's number : e.g. "Group1". I'll send you the addresses, participants' names and
levels, and group number. If you are not sure about how to create the list in your software,
give me a call.
(b) The basic procedure is "copy and paste" or "copiar y pegar". However, as the lesson
contents have colors, icons, etc. you have to change the format ("formato") of your message to
HTML. If not, the lesson you send will be in black and white, with the same font, etc.
To avoid changing the format of every message you send (for example all your homework
corrections), change the software format. First, open CORREO, select OPCIONES, and click on
HTML. This way you always have colors, fonts, and other stuff available in all messages. Call
me if you need help on this.
(c) You actually cannot modify the lesson's contents/segments, but suggestions or comments are
very welcome!
3. The deadline for students to reply their homework has changed to WEDNESDAYS, which means
you have to correct their texts on Thursdays and send feedback by Friday morning.
4. Late homework replies (received from Thursdays onwards) are corrected and sent in the
following 3/4 days. ( i.e. If a student sends you his/her work by Thu, you can take your time
and answer the following Monday! )
5. Keep an attendance record, since I'm going to ask you for details periodically.
6. Let me know when a participant fails to reply his/her assignments for 3 weeks in a row. I'll
send a warning message.
On a separate message you will find guidelines for corrections.
Hope this is useful!
:)
Veronica
Mensaje de bienvenida y confirmación de recepción de PROFILES, mensaje sobre INSTRUCTORES y lineamientos generales del curso
Anter de comenzar el curso, se les pedía a los participantes que enviaran un breve perfil sobre ellos mismos, con preguntas básicas.
Esto servía para chequear también el nivel de redacción.
message : PROFILES ACKNOWLEDGED!
D e a r P a r t i c i p a n t s :
Just a brief message to thank you for your profiles.
Do not worry if you cannot see the colors or drawings in the message, you will be able to
follow the course all the same.
Best regards for all,
:)
Veronica
....
message : WE STILL DON'T HAVE YOUR PROFILE!
Dear participant :
We need your participant's profile urgently, so that you can be included in one of the groups,
and start your electronic classes on Wednesday.
Please, don't forget to submit these few lines about yourself.
Thanks again!
Veronica
....
MESSAGE : YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Dear group 5 :
I'm glad to announce that your instructor will be : CHRIS
His email address is : ...@......
I've already sent him your profiles. Chris will send you your lesson on Wednesday.
AN IMPORTANT CHANGE!!
The new "homework" deadline each week will be Wednesdays (until midnight!). So, you will find
feedback/corrections in your mailboxes by Friday.
I would like to answer some questions you have put forward :
- When you reply an assignment please do delete the unnecessary contents.
- Do not send an assignment as an attached document.
- If you are late with an assignment, you still can send it anytime within the following 4
weeks. You will have your feedback within 2/3 days.
- If you do not send a particular assignment, it is considered as an absence in your attendance
record ( as if you missed a class ). However, you always have a full month to catch up.
- As other assignments are done in groups or pairs, it is important that you keep up with the
group's timing.
Best of luck! I'll be in touch...
Electronically yours,
Veronica
....
MESSAGE TO LATE NEWCOMERS
Dear new participants :
Welcome to the e-course!!
As you probably know we started this course about two weeks ago. This is the reason why I'm
sending several messages today : the "orientation session" ( with general instructions ),
"session 1" (the first class that the other students received last week), and this one.
At this time, do not worry about the deadlines. Try to complete the assignments at your own
pace. Soon you'll catch up with the rest.
On Wednesday next week I'll send you the other two sessions, so by week number 3 you'll be
working with your electronic mates. (You'll take part in one of the groups soon.)
Please, contact me if you have any doubts.
Best regards,
Veronica
Guidelines para instructores sobre las correcciones
Dear Instructors, please copy and paste this note as part of your first feedback message.
CORRECTIONS :
VERY IMPORTANT! You will find corrections signalled between inverted commas ("..."), below the
extracts of your original text, as well as further comments on grammar usage or style.
STYLE AND ORGANIZATION
Five questions you should ask about a text you wrote :
1. Did you use the spell check to avoid spelling mistakes?
2. Are all the tenses right? (A major source of misunderstandings!)
3. Is there agreement between subject and verb? For example "People are..." and
"Everybody is..." instead of "People is..." or "Everybody are..." (mistaken forms)
4. Does it contain unnecessary words, sentences, or information? (Spanish speakers tend to use
too many words and sometimes a text loses its clarity.)
5. Is it polite and politically correct? (words/expressions like "Would you mind...?",
"please", or "he or she", "his or her" are very important.)
